Building Under Pressure: Delivering the Gambella TV Studio Against the Odds

At Koket Investment, we believe that the true measure of a project isn’t just in its final outcome—but in how it is delivered. The Gambella TV Studio for the National Election Board is one such project. It’s not only a technical and architectural milestone, but also a testament to resilience, adaptability, and commitment under real-world challenges.

From the outset, our vision was clear: to design and deliver a fully integrated, state-of-the-art broadcast facility that supports transparent and efficient electoral communication. This meant going beyond standard construction—bringing together architecture, interior design, engineering, furnishing, and specialized broadcasting infrastructure into one seamless solution.

But as with many ambitious projects, the journey has not been without its challenges.

Navigating a Complex Environment

One of the most significant hurdles we’ve faced is the ongoing fuel shortage across Ethiopia. For a project that depends heavily on transportation—of materials, equipment, and skilled professionals—this has added a layer of complexity that cannot be overstated.

Logistics that would typically take days have stretched longer. Coordinating the movement of specialized equipment, from studio systems to acoustic materials, has required meticulous planning and constant adjustment. Transporting skilled teams to and from the site has also demanded flexibility and creative problem-solving.

Yet, these challenges have not slowed our commitment—they have strengthened it.

Coordinating Talent and Technology

Building a TV studio is not just about walls and finishes—it’s about precision. Every element, from acoustic treatments to lighting setups, must align perfectly to meet broadcasting standards.

Delivering this level of detail in a constrained environment has required exceptional coordination. Our teams have worked tirelessly to ensure that engineers, designers, technicians, and contractors remain aligned, even when conditions are less than ideal.

Despite the logistical pressures, we have successfully continued the supply and installation of key systems, including power generators, air conditioning systems, noise control and acoustic equipment, UPS systems, and full interior furnishing packages.

Progress Through Persistence

Today, we are proud to share that the project is 54% complete.

Reaching this milestone under such conditions is a reflection of disciplined execution and unwavering focus. Every phase—architectural development, structural work, interior build-out, and system integration—has moved forward with careful planning and determination.

Accelerating Toward Completion

While the challenges remain, so does our momentum.

We are now entering a critical phase where speed, precision, and coordination matter more than ever. Our teams are actively accelerating workstreams, optimizing logistics, and ensuring that every remaining component—from final installations to finishing details—is delivered on time and to the highest standard.

More Than a Project

The Gambella TV Studio is more than just a construction project. It is a symbol of what can be achieved through resilience, collaboration, and purpose-driven execution.

At Koket Investment, we don’t just build spaces—we deliver solutions, even in the face of adversity.

And as we move closer to completion, one thing remains certain: we will deliver.
